Wedding procession became decoration of opening ceremony of new village in Turkmenistan
The ceremony was attended by heads of local government bodies, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, velayat and etrap Halk Maslahaty, public organizations and residents of the etrap. The participants were read a congratulatory address by the President of the country.
The grand opening ceremony of the new village of Dovletli Mekan in the Ahal velayat of Turkmenistan was held with a bright national flavor - at the height of the event, a wedding procession arrived, which became one of the most memorable moments of the holiday.
As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports, “the arrival of the wedding procession gave a special flavor to the opening ceremony of the village of Dovletli Mekan.”
The territory of the new village in the Ongaldy gengeshlik of the Ak Bugday etrap includes 400 modern residential buildings, an administrative building of the gengeshlik, a health center, a secondary school for 640 students and a kindergarten for 320 children. A shopping center and modern infrastructure have also been built.
The ceremony was held in compliance with ancient Turkmen traditions. The new families prepared traditional pishme according to ancient custom and treated the guests, and festive cauldrons were placed in each house. During the event, rural customs and wedding traditions were demonstrated, and national wrestling competitions called goresh were held.
