General information


The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) is the central executive authority that implements a unified state policy in the fields of public health protection, provision of psychiatric care, psychological services, donation, and pharmaceutical supply. Its work is based on the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the laws of Turkmenistan, Decrees of the President of Turkmenistan, Resolutions of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan, international agreements of Turkmenistan, and the Regulations on the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. 


The Ministry is a legal entity accountable in its work to the President of Turkmenistan and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. It has separate property, a seal, stamps, letterheads with the State Emblem of Turkmenistan, as well as settlement, foreign currency, and other accounts in the banking institutions of Turkmenistan. 


In order to develop the country's healthcare and medical industry system and to acknowledge the hard work of healthcare and medical industry workers and their significant contribution to public health protection, October 10 is celebrated as the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated August 30, 2019.
