Maintaining hand hygiene is key to good health
Following the rules of personal hygiene is the most reliable method of protection against diseases. Frequent hand washing is a healthy habit and can help prevent some infectious diseases. This is due to the fact that various pathogenic viruses, microbes and bacteria gather on our hands and infect the human body through objects that we touch. It is necessary to wash your hands thoroughly with soap after using the toilet, after eating, after walking, after sneezing and coughing. If you do not wash your hands, the human body's ability to fight diseases slows down. When the body weakens, some diseases known as «dirty hands diseases» can occur. Such diseases include: acute food poisoning, acute respiratory infections, acute respiratory viral infections and parasite infections.
You should wash hands thoroughly with soap under running water for at least 20 seconds, including between the fingers. Rinse and dry your hands thoroughly. Disinfectants should also be used throughout the day. Using an antiseptic soap solution is more effective.
Clean hands are the key to good health. Let's always keep our hands clean and inculcate this healthy habit to our nearest! Let's take care of our health together!
World Hand Hygiene Day is celebrated annually on May 5.
