Azerbaijani President arrived in Turkmenistan on working visit

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.

As reported by the press service of the head of Azerbaijan, a guard of honor was lined up in honor of Ilham Aliyev at the International Airport of the city of Turkmenbashy.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was met by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Trade Nokerguly Atagulyev and other officials, the press service added.

As reported earlier, a trilateral summit with the participation of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will be held today in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone.

​

The parties will consider issues of developing and deepening multilateral cooperation in the trade and economic, transport and communications, energy and humanitarian spheres. Following the summit, it is planned to sign a number of joint documents.
