A teaching and Methodological Seminar for Medical Secondary Schools Was Held
Under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during the Revival of the New Era of the Stable State, extensive efforts are being carried out in our country to develop the education system, enhance international cooperation, and exchange experience with leading educational institutions. In the first days of the year proclaimed as “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan the homeland of propeseful winged horses”, on January 24, 2026, in accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, a training and methodological seminar was held at the I. Gandi Ashgabat Medical Secondary School with the participation of representatives of medical secondary schools from the cities of Arkadag and Ashgabat, as well as the regions of the country.
In line with the tasks set by our Hero Arkadagly Serdar President, aimed at expanding international cooperation in training modern, highly qualified specialists in secondary vocational education institutions of Turkmenistan, actively integrating into the global educational space, and developing cooperation between the country’s secondary vocational schools and similar institutions abroad, discussions were held on involving teachers of medical secondary schools of Turkmenistan in online consultations. These discussions were related to the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the I. Gandi Ashgabat Medical Secondary School and Northwest College (USA).
Within the framework of implementing the objectives of the State Program “Health,” a teacher from the Balkan Medical School gave a detailed presentation on the ongoing efforts to train junior nurses with basic vocational education in medical secondary schools under the specialty “General Care” to provide services to people in need. The speaker shared accumulated experience and emphasized the growing demand for such specialists.
Within the framework of the European Union’s European Training Foundation DARYA project, certified “trainer” teachers of the I. Gandi Ashgabat Medical Secondary School delivered presentations on teaching through the application of the SCAFFOLD methodology. In addition, the agenda included the following issues: submitting additional proposals to the rating evaluation system of teachers’ performance; preparing textbooks and teaching manuals for medical secondary schools; demonstrating the use of simulation methods and situational tasks in teaching the subject “Nursing”; organizing students’ industrial and pre-graduation practical training and improving it in accordance with international standards. Relevant proposals were reviewed and presented.
