International Center of Head and Neck Diseases of the Directorate of International Medical Centers
The International Head and Neck Treatment Center of the Directorate of International Medical Centers has achieved great success in healthcare, keeping pace with the most advanced medical achievements in all fields.
The center was opened in 2009. In this international center, fully equipped with modern technologies and equipment, highly qualified doctors are able to diagnose and treat the health of our compatriots and foreign citizens with diseases of the ear, nose, throat, face, eyes, neurosurgery and neurology at a modern level.
The International Head and Neck Treatment Center has Advisory, Diagnostics, Radiology, Angioneurology, Surgery and Sterilization, Intensive Care, Physiotherapy, Laboratory, Otorhinolaryngology, Facial Surgery, Neurosurgery and Ophthalmology Departments, which comprehensively analyze and diagnose the symptoms of diseases that concern patients and provide extensive treatment options.
In the Otorhinolaryngology room of the Advisory and Diagnostics Department, patients who have ear, nose, and throat problems are examined, diagnosed, and treated on an outpatient basis: cleaning the ear from sulfur and pus, treating it with medications, blowing by air through the ear tube, washing the tonsils, applying medicines to them, rinsing the inside of the nose with medicine, and cleaning the nose and nasal passages using the cuckoo method. Patients with diagnosed hoarseness, loss of voice, are prescribed outpatient or inpatient treatment.
Achieving good results in the rehabilitation and treatment of deafness depends on early detection of hearing disorders. In the rooms of a sign language therapist, in case of hearing loss for various reasons or complete hearing loss, the following procedures are performed: audiometry (checking hearing with sounds of different frequencies), tympanometry (checking the patency of the auditory tube, movement of the ear bones), determination of newborn hearing, Behr test (checking the hearing of newborns and young children). Comprehensive hearing assessment of newborns and young children is performed during drug sedation. Hearing aids are selected and adjusted for hearing-impaired patients depending on the degree and type of hearing loss. The Otoplasty Laboratory also manufactures individual inner ear plugs for hearing aids along the outer ear canal. It contributes to a clear perception of the sounds coming from the hearing aid. Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed for patients suffering from noise in the ears (tinnitus) or balance disorders.
In Maxilla-facial surgery room, patients with facial defects in the oral cavity are examined - cleft upper lip, cleft of soft and hard palate, new injuries, facial disorders caused by old injuries associated with impaired jaw function and restoration of jaw bone tissue for the installation of implants, with salivary gland diseases. They receive first aid, outpatient treatment, and inpatient treatment in appropriate departments.
In the Ophthalmology room, the level of visual acuity of patients is determined. Also in the rooms of this Department, the patients are prescribed glasses for hypermetropia and astigmatism; with the help of devices it is possible to determine the internal pressure of the eye in a short time and to prevent cataracts.
In Otorhinolaryngology Department, adults and children undergo adenotomy (removal of the tonsils of the nose and throat), tonsillotomy (removal of the tip of the tonsil), tonsillectomy (complete removal of the tonsil), autopsy of the congenital atresia of the cavity (dissection of the defect between the nose and nasopharynx), rhinoplasty of the external and middle nose, removal of a bleeding polyp, endoscopic surgery of the nose and paranasal sinuses (this is a surgical treatment, the purpose of which is to disrupt the anatomical structure of the lateral wall of the nose as little as possible, to carefully preserve the mucous layer, to clear the nasal cavity of pathological phenomena, to restore ventilation), laser operations, micro-laryngoscopy operations for diseases of the throat and pharynx.
Hearing restoration operations are performed on the ear: drainage (accumulation of fluid in the middle ear during exudative otitis), fistulostomy (removal of fluid from the middle ear), tympanoplasty (cleaning the middle ear and installing the eardrum) and a number of other operations. Together with our German colleagues, stapedoplasty (in the field of the ear bone) and cochlear implantation surgery (restoration of hearing by installing an auditory implant in deaf patients, especially children) have begun.
In the Maxillofacial Surgery Department, the following operations and treatment methods are performed in inpatient conditions: dental plastic surgery of the upper jaw and oral cavity, removal of neoplasms on the face and oral cavity, osteosynthesis (restoration of facial and jaw bones), sinus lifting (thickening of the bone tissue of the upper jaw cavity), implantation (restoration of missing teeth in the mouth by artificial methods), removal of phlegmon and ulcers in the face, gingivoplasty (restoration of the oral mucosa), removal of neoplasms, post-traumatic fundus plastic surgery (fundus repair), removal of uncut teeth, gum cutting of the lip and tongue.
The Neurosurgery Department performs endonasal (through the nose) minimally invasive removal of the pituitary gland of the brain, microsurgical dissection between the trigeminal nerve and a blood vessel (Jeanette operation), removal of neoplasms at the corner of the bridge and base of the brain, bypass surgery for hydrocephalus (accumulation of an abnormal amount of fluid in the brain), neuroraphy for peripheral nerve diseases (nerve suturing), neurolysis (release of a compressed nerve), treatment of anomalies (birth defects) of the skull, brain, spine, spinal cord in children, surgery to remove tumors.
The Ophthalmology Department treats glaucoma, myopia, ischemia, inflammation of the choroid membranes, retinal detachment, cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors (visual acuity disorders), and eye injuries at a modern level using modern technologies. In addition, blepharoplasty is performed at the modern level (eyelid surgery, making crease of the upper eyelid, dilation of the lacrimal glands, removal of the epicanthus) with the treatment of dangerous and non-dangerous tumors of the lacrimal tract, eyes and orbit, removal of dark spots on the eyes, overhanging upper and lower eyelids.
The causes of pain in the face and brain are fully diagnosed, and treatment is prescribed after consultation of the specialized doctors of the Angioneurology Department of the center. Central and peripheral neuropathies, trigeminal neuralgia, and facial neuritis, especially early and late post-stroke rehabilitation are treated.
The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care provides intensive care for critically ill patients and performs operations on patients using various methods of anesthesia. When operations are performed in the head and neck area, the responsibility is high due to the fact that the surgical field is located in the same place of anesthesia, the operation is performed in a reflexogenic, vascularized zone under conditions of controlled hypotension. Anesthesia using modern drugs allows patients to wake up on the operating table and recover quickly from the effects of anesthesia.
The use of electromagnetic waves in a strong magnetic field when studying nuclear magnetic resonance imaging in the RadiologyDepartment, images of the cross-section of the head and nasal cavity, scapula and neck in the computed X-ray tomography method help to diagnose the disease and choose a treatment method. X-ray and ultrasound examinations, ECG, and EchoCG performed in the department also make it possible to diagnose diseases in patients in a timely manner.
In the Laboratory Department, general blood tests, biochemical and immunological studies are carried out, depending on the symptoms of the disease.
The Physiotherapy Department provides preventive measures, electrotherapy, therapeutic massage, physical therapy, acupuncture.
The center's doctors actively participate in international scientific conferences held at home and abroad. In accordance with the tasks set by the Esteemed President for the development and reform of the healthcare system based on scientific achievements and world experience, our doctors regularly cooperate with advanced medical centers in foreign countries in terms of professional training and conduct joint practical work.
