International Center of Traumatology
On July 21, 2011, the International Traumatology Center is the result of activities carried out within the framework of the State Program “Saglyk”. As we all already know, the International Traumatology Center, being the central institution of the traumatology service, is also a hospital that provides primary and specialized care in the areas of traumatology and orthopedics. The center is equipped with advanced, modern equipment, favorable conditions for the work of specialists have been created, as well as conditions for the clinic's patients that promote their speedy recovery, and high-quality services are provided.
The International Traumatology Center is designed to place 180 patients and is one of the centers equipped with the latest, advanced equipment. The International Traumatology Center consists of departments of orthopedics, neurosurgery, traumatology, thoracic abdominal, internal diseases and rehabilitation of the disabled and the department of anesthesiology and intensive care, emergency department, advisory, X-ray and functional diagnostics, laboratory, surgery, physiotherapy and physical therapy, hyperbaric oxygenation, production departments and blood bank.
The center provides specialized primary and special treatment measures in the field of traumatology and orthopedics. All conditions have been created in the Emergency Department to provide emergency care to patients. There are two rooms for a small operating room – a dressing room, a plaster room, and emergency laboratory tests. There is an intensive care unit for patients admitted in serious condition until their condition stabilizes (shock room), an examination room where ultrasound, ECG, and X-ray equipment are installed. In addition to the above, the center is equipped with a direct air radio communication system for communication with the ambulance service, emergency departments of other medical institutions. The Emergency Department of the Center accepts patients who have applied as planned and patients who have been referred from health homes in the direction and, after conducting appropriate research, are admitted to the center's departments for inpatient treatment.
Traumatologists, orthopedists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, oculists, ENT specialists, gynecologists, neuropathologists, pediatricians, therapists, psychologists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, dentists conduct reception in The Advisory Department.
Doctors' rooms are connected by a medical electronic system. Laboratory tests, such as X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics, MRI, CT, ECG, EchoCG, Doppler sonography, densitometry, electroencephalography, FEGD, colonoscopy and bronchoscopy are performed for patients who have sought medical advice in Advisory and Emergency Department. In the Physiotherapy and Physical Therapy Department, patients receive UHF and ultrasound therapy, iontophoresis, laser, ozocerite and the use of Mollakara mud, sea salt baths and hand and foot massage, massage and acupuncture, massage with hot stones and on an electric chair, therapeutic and restorative physical exercises. In the hyperbaric oxygenation room, oxygen gas purified under high pressure is supplied to the human body through the respiratory system through special equipment.
In order to provide patients with blood, blood is taken from donors at the center's Blood Bank and stored in refrigerating facilities after special tests. The Surgery and Intensive Care Departments are fully equipped with equipment from leading foreign manufacturing companies.
The center provides treatment for all types of injuries and post-traumatic conditions.
With the introduction of arthroscopy and arthroplasty techniques in our country for the first time, operations began to be performed through the treatment of complicated injuries to achieve timely treatment of injured patients in order to prevent their disability. These surgical operations are painless and provide fast and high efficiency. The latest, advanced techniques implemented in medical practice contribute to the rapid recovery of patients' health and the prevention of complications.
Doctors of the International Traumatology Center cooperate with leading foreign medical centers in order to improve their skills and work experience. And this contributes to the establishment of new and complex types of operations in the center.
Several new types of surgical operations have been established at the International Traumatology Center. Operations are performed to remove some formation in the brain (aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations), removal of neoplasms through a microscope, brain bypass surgery for congenital and acquired hydrocephalus, installation of intervertebral synthetic discs in the spine (microdissetomy), spinal surgery for spinal injuries and instability, installation of titanium mesh with replacement of the damaged vertebra due to injuries, operations in knee joints, meniscectomy using an arthroscope, restoration of anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments (autoplasty), removal of chondromic bodies, synovectomy, cleaning of joint surfaces from osteophytes, routine replacement of hip and knee joints (endoprosthetics), replacement for congenital dislocations of the hip joints and for malignant neoplasms of the femur, surgery to install splints at the fracture site for complex fractures of the pelvic bones (osteosynthesis), complete knee replacement (total endoprosthesis), small-section surgery for fractures of the femur and shin bones (invasively blocking osteosynthesis), osteosynthesis using non-focal rods for open bone fractures, removal of the gallbladder with a laparoscopic device (cholecystectomy), cecum (appendicitis), plasticize the hernial mesh of the hernial canal surgery. Operations of varying complexity are also performed for injuries or for injuries of the upper and lower extremities - osteosynthesis and osteoplasty in the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Center. In the Thoracic Abdominal Department, if necessary, surgical interventions on the chest and abdominal cavity are performed, all partial (palliative) and continuous (total) operations, removal of all congenital and acquired hernias and hernial canal plastic surgery, operations using the technique of applying a hernial mesh. The Department of Rehabilitation of the disabled, together with the Production Department, manufactures continuous prostheses (exoprostheses) for patients with defects in the upper and lower extremities, manufactures corrective prostheses for patients with body deformities and provides them with rehabilitation treatment during the period of adaptation to prostheses.
The Center also has The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Murad Garryyev. Specialists are conduct a great work on the introduction of new treatment methods, and efforts are being made to regularly introduce international experience into medical practice.
