Dental training and production center of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after M.Garryyev
Currently, several clinical centers operate as part of the SMUT named after Myrat Garryyev. One of them is the Training and Production Center for Dentistry of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev. The center has recently been renovated and refurbished. This created new conditions and opportunities for providing highly specialized medical care to the population.
The center is an institution with powerful laboratory and technical equipment, which employs students engaged in scientific research, clinical residents, graduate students and associate professors conducting scientific work. There are two lecture halls equipped with special interactive multimedia boards for students, educational and procedural rooms of the departments of orthopedics and surgical dentistry, departments of therapeutic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, postgraduate education in dentistry, two phantom rooms equipped with innovative technologies. The center is equipped with diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive equipment from leading global manufacturers.
The center has five departments: children's, therapeutic, surgical, orthopedic and functional diagnostics. When a patient first comes to the center, he is directed to the hygiene room. Here, doctors teach children how to choose oral hygiene products and how to use them. Thanks to a modern dental ultrasound system, you can remove soft and hard deposits from your teeth and clean your teeth quickly and painlessly.
The center has a phytotherapy room, where various procedures using medicinal plants are carried out with the aid of an irrigator. In the X-ray room, a 3D X-ray examination of the maxillofacial system is performed. This allows for diagnostic imaging of the upper and lower jaw.
The orthopedic dental department has all the conditions for installing prostheses. This department houses a CAD/CAM room for computer aided design and sampling in modern prosthetic dentistry. Using advanced equipment, it is possible to create any permanent structures, both from solid ceramics and metal (crowns, inserts, veneers, abutments, bridges). The surgical dental department, consisting of operating rooms and surgical rooms, as well as a therapeutic department, is equipped with dental equipment from leading companies. The operating room has a functional operating table, anesthesia and laser therapy equipment.
The Scientific Training and Production Center of Dentistry serves as the basis for educational and scientific work on training doctors in pediatric, therapeutic, orthopedic departments, as well as surgical and dental offices. When organizing it, first of all, conditions were created for the provision of specialized assistance and training of professional personnel in the field of high-tech practical medicine, as well as improving the professional level of doctors and conducting important scientific research.
Departments of dentistry introduce innovative technologies and modern methods of prevention and treatment of dental diseases into practice. In order to prevent dental diseases, the center's doctors, together with the department's staff, conduct preventive examinations and provide consultations to children and citizens with disabilities in sanatoriums, schools, summer and winter children's recreational health centers. They are trained in oral hygiene. New methods for detecting and preventing dental caries are being studied.
The center is conducting a number of scientific works on the development of new methods for the treatment of diseases of the oral cavity (periodontal) using medicinal plants from the multi-volume scientific encyclopedic book of our national leader entitled “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan”. Scientific research studies the effect of decoctions and infusions of medicinal plants on tooth enamel, bactericidal, bacteriostatic and antioxidant effects on periodontal tissue. Based on the results of such scientific research, articles are published in scientific publications and reports are made at international scientific and practical conferences.
The center carries out activities to prevent dental diseases, determine the frequency of diseases based on preventive examinations, early detection, study the causes of diseases by conducting clinical and laboratory studies, determine the effectiveness of treatment and dispensary monitoring and evaluate the results obtained on a scientific basis.
