Hospital with Scientific Clinical Centre of Cardiology
In 2014, a new hospital building was put into operation to modernize the hospital with a scientific and clinical center of cardiology and provide specialized medical and preventive care to the country's population at a global standard. The hospital complex, which includes the scientific and clinical center of cardiology, has 350 beds and is designed to offer specialized cardiological care. It features centralized admission, surgical arrhythmology, anesthesiology and intensive care, angiosurgery, surgery, toxicology and hemodialysis, consultation and diagnostic services, a blood bank, X-ray and endovascular surgery, pediatric and adult rheumatology, internal medicine, endocrinology, radiation and clinical diagnostics, and laboratory and endoscopic departments.
The center also has scientific and clinical departments for cardiac surgery, cardiology, myocardial infarction, functional diagnostics, physiotherapy and health rehabilitation, as well as scientific and sanatorium departments at «Berzenghi».
The departments of the hospital are equipped with innovative medical equipment reflecting the latest advancements in science and technology for diagnosing and treating heart diseases. They perform complex heart surgeries and provide high-quality medical and wellness care in the postoperative period, as well as intensive care.
New methods for treating and preventing cardiovascular diseases have been introduced into practical medicine in the hospital's cardiology and cardiac surgery departments. These departments offer coronary artery bypass grafting and specialize in the research and treatment of complex heart function disorders.
Scheduled and outpatient admission of patients with vascular diseases is carried out around the clock. The hospital offers conservative treatment for patients with atherosclerosis, endarteritis, and thrombophlebitis, and performs various types of aortobemoral and arterial autovenous bypass surgeries, prosthetics, endarterectomy, and venous phlebectomy using artificial veins in arteries. Non-surgical care for vascular injuries is also provided.
The Department of Surgical Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias serves as a national diagnostic and treatment center for arrhythmology and is equipped with the most modern arrhythmological equipment. Comprehensive electrophysiological studies and treatments are conducted for cardiac arrhythmias. In cases where the heartbeat slows down to 30-35 beats per minute, an artificial pacemaker is used. Various surgical and therapeutic measures are carried out to manage palpitations and other arrhythmias.
The hospital treats patients with coronary heart disease, including acute myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, and heart failure, as well as those with cardiomyopathy and myocarditis. Patients with high blood pressure, its complications, and cardiac arrhythmias are regularly examined and treated, and they receive round-the-clock care.
Comprehensive examinations and treatment of systemic and other rheumatic joint diseases in children and adults are also provided. The center is equipped with world-class equipment, enabling successful research and treatment of cardiovascular and other systems. Stenting operations on the heart and blood vessels are routinely performed here. The Department of X-ray Endovascular Surgery specializes in coronary angiography and coronary artery stenting, particularly for patients admitted with acute myocardial infarction within the first six hours.

— Methods of surgical treatment of various cardiac arrhythmias have been developed and implemented.

Through the efforts of the Esteemed President, significant work is being done to enhance and continuously improve the professional level of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, rheumatologists, functional diagnostics specialists, and family doctors. To address these goals, the hospital, along with the scientific and clinical center of Cardiology, has established a postgraduate training department focused on current issues in cardiology, where doctors consistently upgrade their professional qualifications.
The center offers clinical residency and postgraduate programs in cardiology. Several cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons are currently completing their clinical residency. In the postgraduate program, doctoral students conduct research in various complex areas of cardiology.
