Sanatorium «Dashoguz»
Since 1978, the healing effects of the natural water of the Dashoguz Sanatorium, located in the village council named after N.Andalyp in the Akdepe district of the Dashoguz region, have been known. The source of this natural water was discovered during drilling by the South Karakum Hydrogeological Expedition. The therapeutic water bed of the sanatorium is 1,200 meters deep, and its temperature is 54°C. According to the classification group of groundwater and the main characteristics of its chemical composition, the therapeutic water of the sanatorium is considered iodine-bromine mineral water. This natural, mineral-rich healing water is widely used to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system, urinary and reproductive organs, skin, and endocrine system. Due to its high mineralization, it is unsuitable for drinking. For this reason, it is used in the form of baths or various showers with the addition of ordinary fresh water.
Based on the decree of our Hero Arkadag on the construction of new buildings for the Dashoguz Sanatorium in the Akdepe district of the Dashoguz region, a new 200-bed building equipped with modern medical equipment was built. The building consists of 3 floors: on the 1st floor, there are medical and diagnostic, hydrotherapy, and administrative departments, a canteen for 200 people, a pharmacy, and a shop. The 2nd and 3rd floors contain rooms for 200 patients.
In a cozy phytobar located on the 2nd floor of the sanatorium, various types of teas and extracts made from medicinal plants are offered to our compatriots who are restoring their health. These plants are described in the multi-volume scientific and encyclopedic books of our Hero Arkadag, «Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan», and in the books «Turkmenistan is the land of recovery» and «Tea – Medicine and Inspiration». This approach enhances the effectiveness of the spa treatment.
The diagnostic department of the sanatorium is equipped with offices for radiography, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, electrocardiography, and laboratories, as well as offices for a dentist, gynecologist, neurologist, ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, and specialists in internal diseases. The diagnostic department's high-level medical equipment, meeting international standards, allows residents of the Akdepe district and other compatriots to undergo modern medical examinations without having to travel far from home.
The supply of medical equipment and other medical products from world-renowned manufacturers to the Dashoguz Sanatorium, as well as their use by highly skilled doctors, enhances the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation.
The treatment department provides procedures using paraffin, ozokerite, and mud, as well as magnetotherapy, laser therapy, electrophoresis, vacuum therapy, ultrasound, infrared rays, cold air flow, ozone therapy, aromatherapy, acupuncture, inhalation of medicinal solutions, and spinal stretching devices. Body and face massage with a special apparatus and inhalation of salty and mineral air also produce excellent results. Modern and effective treatment methods such as SPA capsules and physical therapy are also used.
The hydrotherapy department offers procedures using baths and showers with mineral water, underwater massage, solutions made from medicinal plants growing in Turkmenistan, underwater spinal stretching, and galvanic baths. There are also two small pools with mineral water and one large pool with ordinary water, as well as two saunas.
In the Dashoguz Sanatorium, mineral water is used in pools, baths, and showers (Charcot shower, hydro massage shower). Therapeutic baths maintain the composition and temperature of the mineral water. These baths allow for restorative procedures in different directions simultaneously, such as in the form of a hydro massage, by adding a stream of water to the bath. Its therapeutic effect is enhanced by massage with water and air flows.
With the help of equipment located outside the pool, fitness can be combined with strength training, swimming in warm water, and various exercises.
